Free cooling

Free cooling uses cool ambient air or facility water to cool servers or other equipment with little or no mechanical refrigeration. In high-density AI data centers, liquid cooling systems that operate at warmer temperatures can increase the possibilities for free cooling, which reduces energy consumption and operating costs.

High thermal efficiency

High thermal efficiency and a tight temperature approach make SWEP BPHEs the ideal loop-breaker to separate the external brine circuit from the inside facility water circuit. SWEP BPHEs provide efficient heat transfer, even with small temperature differences, helping to maximize free cooling and reduce chiller operation.

data center cooling-free cooling

High capacity, low maintenance

Our high-capacity, low-maintenance BPHEs support modular system designs that improve part-load efficiency, simplify maintenance, and provide cost-effective redundancy as cooling demands grow.

Data center cooling - Free cooling

The SWEP B427, B439, B633, and B649, single-phase brazed plate heat exchangers, offer the best possible compromise between low temperature approach and low pressure-drop, making them the perfect choice for free-cooling systems in data centers.

Data center free cooling

Ideal for warm-water cooling

Many direct liquid cooling systems operate with warmer supply water than traditional air-cooled data centers. This enables free cooling over a wider range of ambient conditions, reducing reliance on mechanical chillers and improving overall energy efficiency.
