SWEP brazed plate heat exchangers (BPHE) offer high energy efficiency and stable heat transfer in a range of applications. They are available as either copper-brazed or 100% stainless steel single- and multi-pass units. Plate packages can be customized to supply precise thermal characteristics for specific applications, ensuring maximum heat transfer and minimal pressure drop.
SWEP has developed several proprietary technologies designed to maximize the efficiency of our BPHEs. SWEP AsyMatrix™ plate design, for example, maximizes system performance by delivering optimal heat transfer at low pressure drop.
Because BPHEs are significantly smaller than older, shell and tube technology, they are far more efficient, while using less material. Approximately 95% of the material in a BPHE is used to transfer heat, and because they have a highly turbulent flow, they can utilize even very small temperature differences.
SWEP offers a dedicated range of BPHEs that are optimized for use with R-744 (CO2) a natural, low-GWP refrigerant. This range of compact, lightweight BPHEs are designed to withstand the high pressure required to use CO2, while still ensuring highly efficient heat transfer.
